Mugler Alien Goddess

Alien Goddess, the new Mugler perfume of the Alien collection, targets Generation-Z; a younger population yet to meet Mugler as a brand.

Willow Smith, the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, a singer and actress, has been chosen to embody this new vision of femininity that is strong, powerful, inclusive, and edgy, as reported by the brand. The campaign was directed by Emmanuel Adjei and photographed by Txema Yeste.

"To me, this fragrance is a manifesto,"  Smith told wwd. "It urges us to be wholly ourselves, to brandish what makes us unique with pride. Beyond that, Alien Goddess gives us the strength to find the best within ourselves, whoever we are, in order to accomplish extraordinary things with a positive impact on the world and those around us. It’s a powerful message of kindness, hope, and joy."

Alien Goddess includes bergamot essence, jasmine grandiflorum SuperInfusion, Madagascar Bourbon vanilla, and the note of cashmerean. It was created by Firmenich perfumers Nathalie Lorson and Marie Salamagne.

The bottle of Alien Goddess retains the shape of the original Alien fragrance, launched in 2005 but in a golden color. The fragrance is available as a 30, 60, and 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

Willow is very pretty and it's always good seeing greater representation, though the message conveyed is a bit non sensical: don't all perfumes perform while we're being ourselves? Who else could we be, apart from fantasy that is?
The composition sounds rather predictable, probably due to L'Oreal dampening the Mugler edge.

Mugler, if you can’t get a star to front your new fragrance, wait. Hollywood nepotism doesn’t work in the movies and it won’t work here.

Think of all the talented actors who’ve made it on their own, who could have done with the boost in profile and you’ve gone with Willow Smith?

A one-hit wonder from a decade ago - but then - as the article states first- she is the daughter of Will and Jada Smith - so that’s nice.

Er… maybe not for me. I don’t get on with the Aliens and this doesn’t intrigue me in the slightest. But good to see Willow Smith as the face behind it.

This Alien seems wearable.

I just don't get why nowadays the advertising face/person seems just as much important as the freaking fragrance juice it self! We live in a crazy, crazy world.

ok, but like... could you tell me what it smells like?
I'm tired of the buzzwords in fragrance advertising, no perfume has EVER made anyone kinder, or accomplish extraordinary things if they weren't already going to. I smell pretty good today... time to go out and change the world.

An updated version of the recently discontinued Eau Extraordinaire, I suppose ?
Maybe I expected too much, but I'd have liked something more original than Alien lite with bergamot.

I get excited about any and all Alien- variants. Willow is so gorgeous, it's lovely watching her grow with grace.

Interesting! Just got into Mugler scents this year and already have Mirage, Flora Futura and Eau Sublime out of the flankers, which feels like a good amount to enjoy the range of what they offer without duplicating notes too much. Was curious about what they'd do this year, but it sounds a bit too similar note-wise to Eau Sublime/Extraordinaire so will be interested to try to see if the vanilla/cashmeran do much to differentiate. Would have liked something that was a bit more different to existing flankers...

I'm in. Love Alien Eau Extraordinaire but wish it was more Alien (so I layer them) and since Essence Absolue is unavailable, this Goddess flanker sounds perfect!

P.S. I am also excited that the bottle is not a loud color like many Mugler offerings. I find neutrals much more aesthetically pleasing.

Oh wow! Sounds like a lighter version of Alien Essence Absolue.
